Theatre Studio DRAMATEKA Youth - 26/27

The DRAMATEKA theatre studio teaches acting in Russian. It was founded by Juliet Ostretsova, a graduate of the GITIS directing faculty, a stage and screen actress, and a director with the New World Theatre Club.

A group for teenagers from age 12. Work on a play's text, scenes from Russian and world drama, a character's nature and motives, stage speech and movement. For a teenager it is also a place to talk about serious things in Russian — with people their own age, outside the school curriculum.

Classes use exercises from the Stanislavski and Michael Chekhov methods for imagination, attention and memory; articulation, breathing and tongue-twisters for clear speech; and études that release tension. No stage experience is needed. Pupils who wish to can perform in Monde des Arts productions.
