Little Lions (Львята) - Saturday - 26/27

The main aim of our classes is to start and develop speech in Russian through movement, play and physical interaction. We work from a current scientific approach that combines motor development, speech-therapy practice and emotional, embodied interaction. A child's speech is not simply words. It is the result of a whole network of areas of the brain, which develop not only through talking but through movement, rhythm and fine motor skills. When a child crawls, dances, plays finger games or repeats rhythmic movements to music, key areas of the brain are activated:
Broca's area — helps the child build phrases and speak fluently;
Wernicke's area — responsible for understanding words and the sense of what is heard;
The motor cortex — controls the organs of speech (lips, tongue, voice);
The sensory cortex — helps distinguish sounds and sensations; the cerebellum and corpus callosum coordinate movement and link the work of both hemispheres, which matters for the development of speech.
This is why our classes include:
Logorhythmics — speech, rhythm and movement combined, which helps form correct pronunciation, rhythmic speech and listening attention;
Neuro-gymnastics — simple but effective exercises that activate the connections between the hemispheres and help speech emerge;
Finger games and exercises — for the fine motor skills linked to the speech centres of the brain; speech-therapy songs and rhymes — to build articulation, phonemic hearing and vocabulary;
Yoga and dance games — to free the body, build coordination and confidence.
Our classes take place in a lively, warm atmosphere where Russian is heard naturally — in movement, in emotion and in real interaction. This is particularly valuable for bilingual children and for anyone who needs to start talking in a safe and engaging environment.
